"The Ashes"

The first test match was played in 1877. The first Ashes was played in 1882. How did the Ashes all start? Well it began with a shock Australian victory and a bail being burnt in horror.

It is the Ashes that generate biggest crowds. The Ashes is about tradition. For two decades, the Ashes has been one-sided. The last time England won the Ashes was in 1986-87.

This time around the Ashes could be a closely fought affair, as Australia are the leading test side with England at number 2. England look a better team now compared to the last 8 Ashes.

Australian approach to this summer Ashes is 'Mental disintegration'. It is all about trying to keep England under pressure from ball one of the series until the series ends. It is a version of pressure. England's approach should be positive and have an attacking attitude.

This is binoy signing off for now until next time. Bye
