Champions Trophy Reports

The Champions Trophy has come to an end, with Australia taking the honours. West Indies had a great start to the match, with Gayle and Chanderpaul going great guns. It was Bracken who destroyed the top order of the West Indies. They were all out for 138. Australia had a bad start as they lost two quicks wickets for just 13 runs, then there was another twist in the form of Weather almost carrying the game to the next day. But then Australia came out after the rain break and and finished the game, winning the match by 8 wickets. Lifting the Champions Trophy for the first time... Hats off to the champions.

India v West Indies was a contest which West Indies could have knocked out easily, but they almost let the match slip from their grasp, India could have won the match if the Indian bowlers would have bowled at a length and not bowl short. West Indies came out winners by 3 wickets...

In two days we were treated to two of the best ICC champions Trophy matches, the first was between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, in which Pakistan were the winners by 4 wickets. The very next day we had another wonderful match between the World Champions Australia and the former ICC Champion West Indies, it was big upset there, with the West Indies winning by 10 runs. It was a great contest. More to come.......

The ICC champions Trophy is underway with the qualifying matches going on. Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and West Indies the former champions fight it out for the two spots. The qualifying matches end on the 14th. India play their first match on the 15th against England at Jaipur.
